Our Care Champion Hero is…Victoria Woolam

Help us celebrate Victoria Woolam, Caregiver and Med Tech at StoryPoint Rockford in Rockford, Michigan, and our June Care Champion Hero!

When a fall or incident occurs, Victoria is known for meeting residents where they are — physically and emotionally.

Two moments stand out. When a resident experiencing hallucinations was found on the floor searching for something only she could see, Victoria got down on her hands and knees beside her and looked with her, meeting her in her reality while providing comfort and respect. In another incident, a resident slid off the bed, and Victoria sat beside him, helped him collect himself, and ensured his dignity was fully restored before assisting him up.

Her nominator, Abigail Conley, Wellness Director, says, “Victoria shows immediate compassion in every situation. She is quick to respond, visually assess, and meet residents where they are. She is intentional in her approach, moves at their pace, and ensures residents feel heard, safe, and supported throughout the entire interaction. Her ability to slow down, remain calm, and care for the whole person is truly exceptional.”

It’s our honor to name Victoria a Care Champion Hero. If you know a caregiver with the same compassion and presence, we’d love to celebrate them, too. Nominate them here.
