George Netscher

Founder & CEO

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
I started the company to build a better world for my mom. Her mom and sister both had Alzheimer's, and I saw how hard that was on both of them and on her. I set out to build a better world for those with Alzheimer's and their families. It's a race against time before my mom gets to that point and for every other family just like ours.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
Usually with my wife Casey and our dog Minnie. We love reading, gaming, cooking, and finding ways to get active outdoors together!

Shirley Nickels

Chief Operating Officer

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2016. It's been important to me to be able to support fellow daughter caregivers that have to witness their loved ones progressively lose themselves to the disease while preserving their dignity. In addition, I believe being part of SafelyYou allows me to give my mother purpose which is what she values most.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
With my family (husband and 3 kids) in the sun by some form of water - pool, river, lake, or beach.

Christopher Ryan

Vice President of Marketing

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?

Loïc Juillard

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?

Several people in my family have been affected by dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Caring for patients affected with this condition is complex and taxing for their families. Using the latest advancements in technology to help caring for these patients is an incredible opportunity to contribute solving one of society greatest challenge.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
I raise two kids. Well, one is technically an adult now.  I play the piano.  I spend time spelling out my first name to people. I do projects around the house that are received with more or less success.

Michael McMillen

Executive Vice President of Sales

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
My Grandmother lived in the memory care unit of an assisted living community and fell twice. The experience was horrific. I wish they had SafelyYou. SafelyYou has a tremendous opportunity to help people live better lives by allowing operators to improve care without the need for adding more staff. It is a truly transformative technology and I cannot wait to help more operators succeed with it.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
You'd find me hiking with my family, at one of their sports practices (I coach my son's baseball team), cycling, or attending a Cleveland sports event. I love all things outdoors.

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
I was personally impacted by Dementia when my Grandma was diagnosed over 10 years ago. After witnessing the toll it took on those who loved her, I felt a calling to be there for the millions of others just like my grandma. This is what guided my career path so I could make a commitment to advocate for those with Dementia, their caregivers, and their families.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
When I am not working you can find me spending time with my Dalmatian puppy, Rose. With her boundless energy we love to hike in the Santa Cruz Mountains and explore the California coast. I also love to run, bike, enjoy state parks, and try new recipes in the kitchen.

David Bramley

Vice President of Sales

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
I'm personally invested in SafelyYou and passionate to help drive change because my mom was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's. During her care journey she unfortunately suffered a number of unwitnessed fall events that negatively impacted her health. I'm confident that a solution like SafelyYou would have not only improved her care but it would also have been very helpful for my siblings and I, who were doing our best to try and understand what happened and help manage her care.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
I view life is one big adventure and there is no one else that I'd rather explore it with than my family (Christi & River). Whether that is driving across the country and moving to Nashville during a pandemic, road tripping to see family in Chicago, Wisconsin, or Michigan, or simply an evening family walk to get ice cream and stop-off at the playground on the way home. You can usually find me outside exploring with the people I love.

Christopher Brodt

Lead Software Engineer

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
I've had several family members suffer from dementia and falls that eventually precipitated their move to nursing facilities. It's very rewarding for me personally to help SafelyYou build solutions that will provide a better quality of life and care for those living with dementia.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
Very likely in my garage wrenching on a '66 Mustang or some other DIY project. When the weather is nice I'm taking our 1 1/2 your old dog to the park or on a bike ride around Chicago.

Katie Brooks, LPN, CDP, CFPS

Director of Strategic Accounts

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?

My personal drive for joining SafelyYou is a spark that ignited as soon as I started researching the company and just continued growing as I learned more and spoke with more people in the company. The passion and purpose from George that started this company shines through with each person I have spoken with and aligns with my goal to have a positive and meaningful impact on the people I interact with as well as the healthcare system as a whole.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
The most important thing in my life is my sweet blended family with my three kids (ages 21, 15, 11) my partner, and his son (age 14), and building a life full of adventure for them. In the summertime, you can find us on the water! We want to be out enjoying the sunshine and water every weekend because we have such a small window for it in the Pacific Northwest so we are either on our boat or paddleboards or lounging at the beach. In the wintertime, we try to plan adventures and love to hike, snowshoe, and go on trips!

Brittany Card

Operations Manager, Implementations

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?

Elder care has been central to my life for the last many years. My husband and I were the primary caregivers for my mother-in-law through her cancer treatment, and for my father-in-law's end-of-life care following his terminal cancer diagnosis. My husband's grandmother has been living with my mother-in-law, although somewhat independent, at times we've had to manage overnight care for her as a family, and her falling while getting out of bed were such a huge concern! I'm so happy to see SafelyYou making such a dramatic difference for families, and easing the burden of worry and sleepless nights. I couldn't be happier to be part of the team making it all happen.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
In my downtime, I spend time with my husband and my little pug, Spock. We love to travel, spend time in nature, eat at great restaurants and occasionally we still get out to festivals or live shows to go dancing.

Douglas Choma

Senior Software Engineer

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?

Like so many others, my grandparents suffered terribly in their final years due to falls. It was difficult to see how rapidly their quality of life deteriorated after those injuries. I am incredibly proud to be part of a team with such a powerful mission, and I'm hopeful that our work makes a difference for other families.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
When I'm not working around the house, you may find me tinkering with the car or playing with our beautiful rescue dog, Maggie. I'm also an avid movie nerd—love good sci-fi or anything from David Fincher.

Latoya Christopher

My first exposure to SafelyYou came through an early adopter of their technology. I was amazed to learn that in such a short amount of time they were able to significantly reduce fall-related ER visits for their memory care residents. Fast forward, I find it deeply rewarding to now be part of the team and technology that helps operators provide safer care for the residents they serve.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
When not exploring our home state of Colorado with my wife and young son, I'm likely working on our next home improvement project. I like a good construction project, which comes in handy being married to someone with an endless "honey do" list.

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
My mom has had multiple falls, and while she doesn't have memory impairment, sometimes she can't tell me what happened because it was all so sudden, so disorienting, and so upsetting. Not knowing is very concerning for me, and makes it difficult to prevent the same fall from happening again. I'm proud to be working for a company that can help families understand exactly what happened--and have greater peace of mind--after a fall occurs.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
Spending quality time with the world's greatest dog, John Oates. Or hunting for all things vintage.

John Floyd

Over the past few years my father has had back surgery and three hip replacement surgeries. Where can we find you when you're not working?
Spending time with family and friends enjoying the outdoors.

I worked in a continuing care retirement community in the past and found that I had a passion for elder care, and especially for those living with dementia. I'm fortunate to have the opportunity to be an advocate for seniors that often don't have a voice.

Injury prevention, education, and advocating for patients and families have always been important to me so I was immediately drawn to the work of SafelyYou. With significant experience treating patients with Traumatic Brain Injuries, I have witnessed first-hand the devastating effects of falls. On a personal level, two of my uncles battled the effects of Alzheimer’s. As the disease progressed, I observed the strain on their families as they made every effort to ensure safety and promote good care. As a member of the team at SafelyYou, I am grateful to combine my professional and personal passions to improve the lives of others.

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?

I've been around this industry for many years and I'm constantly trying to find ways to improve the tools and resources offered to operators and residents. I can recall many stories when I was an operator of residents in my building who would have benefited from SafelyYou if it were available at the time. What we are doing is incredibly impactful and it should be accessible to everyone.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
I am in full-time mom mode when not at work, with a four year old and twin 18 month olds. When able, we take a 'relocation' to the beach or to visit family in sunny Florida. I feel extremely fortunate to be able to do what I love, as a mom and an advisor for seniors.

Taz Lindwall

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?

For the last 10 years working in the Senior Care industry I have had the opportunity to work closely with the Alzheimer's Association and seniors with memory impairments. It was then that I learned that there has not been advanced technology like SafelyYou to help improve the safety and security of those affected. I have realized how important it is to have the technology in place to help these individuals live safely and with peace of mind. Not only for themselves, but for their families as well. At SafelyYou, I believe in their core values and stand behind their mission to elevate the standard of dementia care.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
When I am not working you can find me spending quality time with my family and friends, attending stand-up comedy shows, practicing hot yoga, reading thriller and suspense books, and more than likely traveling anywhere there is water. I am a Pisces, so I love being around water!

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?

As a Registered Nurse, I have spent my entire career working toward making all phases of healthcare safer. My personal connection is my grandma! I have so many happy childhood memories of her. Her presence in my life is still felt today in traditions that I carry on with my own family now. It was devastating to watch her struggle with dementia. Falls can be catastrophic events in the lives of the geriatric population, and I'm proud to take part in carrying out Safely You's mission. The use of advanced technology to detect and prevent falls is absolutely fascinating to me. Reducing the risk of falls for this population means a better quality of life, which is exactly what we would want for our own loved ones.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
Chasing my two kids! My children are 8 years apart in age, and I'm completely enjoying trying to explore the different phases of their lives all at once. I love to bake, so I could also easily be in the kitchen!

Scott Porter

Senior Sales and Marketing Analyst

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
My grandpa passed from Alzheimer's and my mom has been in working with cognitively impaired residents for a long time. I want to help improve the quality of care peoples' loved ones receive by understanding what their needs are and not just guessing. And SafelyYou helps do that. I also want to help direct care staff get time back in their lives to spend with families. I think of my mom, working 9+ hrs everyday because she had to fill out extra incident reports and then coming home and cooking dinner, having no time to spend with family. I want to help give some of that time back by reducing extra work that may not be needed by care staff. And SafelyYou helps do that, too.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
You can find me hiking around national parks. Or exploring live music venues and new breweries.

Having worked in the acute care setting, I have seen the detective skills needed by hospital staff and families to best figure out what caused a fall and if any injuries have occurred. I have also witnessed the added stress for the individual and family on how to best discharge plan and keep their family member safe in the future. I am excited to be part of a company that is filling in this important gap to keep individuals safe, give families peace of mind, and provide staff with crucial information.

I cared for my grandma for 10 years before turning my passion for older adults into a career. I am thrilled to be able to impact the lives of older adults on a much larger scale at SafelyYou.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
When I am not working, you can find me in the mountains skiing or hiking. I grew up on a lake in Wisconsin, so I like to spend summers on the boat with my family.

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
I lost a grandmother a few years ago when she suffered a stroke and fell. Because she lived alone and was unmonitored we weren't aware of her state for several hours and a lot of damage occurred in that time. Having the opportunity to work with SafelyYou and have a hand in developing a product that both improves the quality of life and potentially saves the lives of individuals who need extra care is extremely rewarding.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
Probably on the water. I’ve been an avid surfer for many years now and it’s taken me to some of the most incredible places on the globe.

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?

My grandfather had Alzheimer's and I experienced the progression of the disease as both a family member and caregiver. As a former Neuroscience ICU RN, I am far too familiar with life-threatening injuries caused by falls and am personally driven to prevent them--SafelyYou gives me that opportunity.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
I enjoy taking long walks and hikes with my boyfriend and awkward rescue dog.

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
My sister worked at a memory care facility in Vermont before suffering a TBI. Now she herself suffers seizures that make her vulnerable to falling injuries. She cannot live alone anymore, but hopefully advancing technology like that made by SafelyYou will grant people like her a little more freedom, and help the families and professionals who care for our loved ones.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
The golf course, camping with the family, recording personal music projects, or trying to scheme ways to get back to flight school...

I am genuinely drawn to this company for several reasons, one of which is their evident commitment to their employees' well-being and growth while impacting the lives of their customers. I can easily stand behind its mission since my grandfather was impaired by a stroke and my great grandmother had dementia.

Field Operations, Technical Support Engineer

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
Joining SafelyYou has both a personal and professional connection for me. Professionally as PTA I have worked with numerous Alzheimer's and dementia patients and have seen the damage falls can cause. Personally Alzheimer's runs on my fathers side of my family. My grandfather was diagnosed in his early 80s and lived with it until his passing in his late 90s. Currently, my uncle is undergoing studies and testing for early-onset Alzheimer's as he started developing symptoms in his late 50s.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
Prior to the pandemic the answer would have been an MMA gym, but nowadays you can find me at home, spending time with the 3 ladies of my life; my wife, my daughter, and my cat.
