George Netscher

Founder & CEO

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
I started the company to build a better world for my mom. Her mom and sister both had Alzheimer's, and I saw how hard that was on both of them and on her. I set out to build a better world for those with Alzheimer's and their families. It's a race against time before my mom gets to that point and for every other family just like ours.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
Usually with my wife Casey and our dog Minnie. We love reading, gaming, cooking, and finding ways to get active outdoors together!

Shirley Nickels

Chief Operating Officer

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2016. It's been important to me to be able to support fellow daughter caregivers that have to witness their loved ones progressively lose themselves to the disease while preserving their dignity. In addition, I believe being part of SafelyYou allows me to give my mother purpose which is what she values most.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
With my family (husband and 3 kids) in the sun by some form of water - pool, river, lake, or beach.

Tom Bang

Chief Strategy Officer

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
Personally, I’m committed to advancing technologies that improve the lives of those living with cognitive challenges. I share my father’s journey with ALZ. And with my wife, manage our son’s care, who at age 21 suffered a massive ischemic stroke. Professionally, I believe technological advancements must provide economic benefit for all constituents. I’m focused on assuring capital investors, liability insurers, clinicians and ultimately healthcare plans benefit and support proven technology investments for their operators.

Where can we find you when you're not working?

It is a truly transformative technology and I cannot wait to help more operators succeed with it.

Heather Hallett-Duda, MBA, BSN, BA, RN

Vice President of Clinical Success

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?

My personal mission after leaving a care delivery role, has been dedicated to transforming healthcare through technology. I've experienced

first-hand how it can minimize errors, alter workflow, change behavior, and most importantly, improve safety and outcomes. It goes without

saying that we need to do better for our loved ones with dementia and caring for aging populations in general. That is the fundamental reason why I

joined SafelyYou. Per our core values, I am a caregiver first. Beyond that, I believe that our solution will generate additional insights

about how to effectively deliver holistic care and allow for efficiencies in clinical workflows. I truly believe that the technology will help us discover

the unknown, which will allow us to drive new evidence based clinical best practices beyond what best practices we have been able to deliver to date.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
Spending quality time with my husband and four sons - three human (ages 13,18 and 20), one canine (Chuckles the Cavapoo). As you might imagine, with that crew when I am not working I am cooking.

Michael Aquino, PharmD

Marketing Automation Specialist

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
When I was younger, it was always explained to me that our grandma was just forgetful. Often times, we would find her out walking at odd hours looking "lost" or doing something we repeatedly told her not to do when in reality, she may have been suffering from undiagnosed early memory loss. I felt the frustration of what she was doing but not understanding why she was doing what she was doing. There are millions of families who suffer through the memory loss of a loved one and I'm honored to have the opportunity to help work towards a solution for better care.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
Training my dogs at the park, beach or lake. We enjoy doing sports, playing frisbee, learning new tricks, or riding waves!

Outside exploring nature, the gym, but mostly at my desk gaming or learning something new.

David Bramley

Director of Enterprise Sales

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
I'm personally invested in SafelyYou and passionate to help drive change because my mom was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's. During her care journey she unfortunately suffered a number of unwitnessed fall events that negatively impacted her health. I'm confident that a solution like SafelyYou would have not only improved her care but it would also have been very helpful for my siblings and I, who were doing our best to try and understand what happened and help manage her care.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
I view life is one big adventure and there is no one else that I'd rather explore it with than my family (Christi & River). Whether that is driving across the country and moving to Nashville during a pandemic, road tripping to see family in Chicago, Wisconsin, or Michigan, or simply an evening family walk to get ice cream and stop-off at the playground on the way home. You can usually find me outside exploring with the people I love.

Christopher Brodt

Staff Software Engineer

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
I've had several family members suffer from dementia and falls that eventually precipitated their move to nursing facilities. It's very rewarding for me personally to help SafelyYou build solutions that will provide a better quality of life and care for those living with dementia.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
Very likely in my garage wrenching on a '66 Mustang or some other DIY project. When the weather is nice I'm taking our 1 1/2 your old dog to the park or on a bike ride around Chicago.

Katie Brooks, LPN, CDP, CFPS

Clinical Success Manager

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?

My personal drive for joining SafelyYou is a spark that ignited as soon as I started researching the company and just continued growing as I learned more and spoke with more people in the company. The passion and purpose from George that started this company shines through with each person I have spoken with and aligns with my goal to have a positive and meaningful impact on the people I interact with as well as the healthcare system as a whole.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
The most important thing in my life is my sweet blended family with my three kids (ages 21, 15, 11) my partner, and his son (age 14), and building a life full of adventure for them. In the summertime, you can find us on the water! We want to be out enjoying the sunshine and water every weekend because we have such a small window for it in the Pacific Northwest so we are either on our boat or paddleboards or lounging at the beach. In the wintertime, we try to plan adventures and love to hike, snowshoe, and go on trips!

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?

Elder care has been central to my life for the last many years. My husband and I were the primary caregivers for my mother-in-law through her cancer treatment, and for my father-in-law's end-of-life care following his terminal cancer diagnosis. My husband's grandmother has been living with my mother-in-law, although somewhat independent, at times we've had to manage overnight care for her as a family, and her falling while getting out of bed were such a huge concern! I'm so happy to see SafelyYou making such a dramatic difference for families, and easing the burden of worry and sleepless nights. I couldn't be happier to be part of the team making it all happen.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
In my downtime, I spend time with my husband and my little pug, Spock. We love to travel, spend time in nature, eat at great restaurants and occasionally we still get out to festivals or live shows to go dancing.

Paul Ciccero

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
My mom has had multiple falls, and while she doesn't have memory impairment, sometimes she can't tell me what happened because it was all so sudden, so disorienting, and so upsetting. Not knowing is very concerning for me, and makes it difficult to prevent the same fall from happening again. I'm proud to be working for a company that can help families understand exactly what happened--and have greater peace of mind--after a fall occurs.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
Spending quality time with the world's greatest dog, John Oates. Or hunting for all things vintage.

I worked in a continuing care retirement community in the past and found that I had a passion for elder care, and especially for those living with dementia. Spending time connecting with people that are going through cognitive change and offering some company and comfort is one of the best experiences I've had. I'm fortunate to have the opportunity to be an advocate for seniors that often don't have a voice.

Injury prevention, education, and advocating for patients and families have always been important to me so I was immediately drawn to the work of SafelyYou. With significant experience treating patients with Traumatic Brain Injuries, I have witnessed first-hand the devastating effects of falls. On a personal level, two of my uncles battled the effects of Alzheimer’s. As a member of the team at SafelyYou, I am grateful to combine my professional and personal passions to improve the lives of others.

Peter Jeffries

Vice President of Health Insurance Payer

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?

My mother suffered from progressively worse dementia - memory loss over the last decade, eventually losing her this year. So many times she had fallen followed by the gamut of EMT, ER and overnight hospital stays that were both frightening, painful and confusing to her. Regardless of the resources the LTC facility tried to bring to her aid, the impact was nominal and the outcome remained the same. To have this opportunity to make a real difference in the families and individuals suffering from this horrible disease and help restore a level of dignity to those afflicted is truly a blessing.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
My wife and I love to travel, enjoy great food & restaurants while sharing both with friends and family. I am also an avid golfer, enjoy biking, back-bay fishing and volunteering at our local Habitat for Humanity.

I want to work somewhere that is actively doing something good for people in the world. My sister is the strategy officer for a health plan in the Bay Area, and deals with many of the senior living facilities there daily. We often talk about how they operate, how they could be improved, and how they pretty much determine how much comfort, dignity, and safety their residents have in their lives. I am also excited to work on a team of people who are all driven by similar factors.

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?

My brother and I have been finding my mother on the floor every so often for the last 2 years, it has gotten worse in the last 6 months. She was in the hospital right before Christmas last year for a, we were scared out of our minds,  the doctors did not know why she was falling. This past April, she fell again, they did brain scans and found that she was having seizures. After reading about SafelyYou I could only think, had we had this technology, we would of known she was suffering so much sooner. She is now on medication and the seizures have stopped, but she is 80 years old and is  showing signs of Alzheimer's. I think this AI technology is amazing and will help so many people in and out of the hospitals. I'm thankful for the opportunity to join such a great company with an awesome vision!!!!

Where can we find you when you're not working?
You can find me on the baseball field, I am a very proud baseball Mom and will go anywhere to watch my son play. We even got to go to Cooperstown last summer, it was the best trip ever, and I can't wait to go back to New York! We also love to entertain friends at home, attend Giants games and watch the Warriors. Life is good!

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?

As a Registered Nurse, I have spent my entire career working toward making all phases of healthcare safer. My personal connection is my grandma! I have so many happy childhood memories of her. Her presence in my life is still felt today in traditions that I carry on with my own family now. It was devastating to watch her struggle with dementia. Falls can be catastrophic events in the lives of the geriatric population, and I'm proud to take part in carrying out Safely You's mission. The use of advanced technology to detect and prevent falls is absolutely fascinating to me. Reducing the risk of falls for this population means a better quality of life, which is exactly what we would want for our own loved ones.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
Chasing my two kids! My children are 8 years apart in age, and I'm completely enjoying trying to explore the different phases of their lives all at once. I love to bake, so I could also easily be in the kitchen!

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
My grandpa passed from Alzheimer's and my mom has been in working with cognitively impaired residents for a long time. I want to help improve the quality of care peoples' loved ones receive by understanding what their needs are and not just guessing. And SafelyYou helps do that. I also want to help direct care staff get time back in their lives to spend with families. I think of my mom, working 9+ hrs everyday because she had to fill out extra incident reports and then coming home and cooking dinner, having no time to spend with family. I want to help give some of that time back by reducing extra work that may not be needed by care staff. And SafelyYou helps do that, too.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
You can find me hiking around national parks. Or exploring live music venues and new breweries.

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
Since before my time, my father has owned and operated a personal fall prevention business focused on providing education, products, and services to persons with disabilities and/or aging individuals, so they can remain living safely and independently in their own homes. Over the years and through many shared projects, I've adopted a like-minded passion around this person-centered mission and feel SafelyYou shares similar objectives and ambitions.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
When I'm not working, you can find me renovating and decorating my house, adding some mileage to my road bike, or spending time with my favorite people and pets!

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
I was approached by Carmelo and Eddie whom I share prior working experience with. After learning more about SafelyYou, I understood that I have an additional tie with the our mission statement. My wife lost both of her grandparents with dementia in 2021 due to falls at their community facility which led to further complications. It really hit home that our mission and what we do day in and out can help save lives and enhance the quality of those living with dementia and Alzheimers.

Where can we find you when you're not working?

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?

My mom lost her mother in her mid-teens, after which she was raised by my great-grandmother - I grew up knowing my great-grandmother simply as "grandma". After suffering multiple strokes in her later years, her final stroke, unfortunately, occurred when she was alone in her home. I'd like to think SafelyYou's technology would have at least allowed her to pass surrounded by the family that loved her so much. It's not often you're afforded the opportunity to work somewhere that can make such a large and important impact in people's lives.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
Hiking or exploring some new place with my family. I love watching my kids grow up. Each step or fall that they take is a joy to watch them learn and grow.

I think SafelyYou's mission to help keep those with Alzheimer's safe and help prevent falls is wonderful. My godmother/aunt has dementia and it's so hard to see the decline in her. She was so vibrant and full of life and now she doesn't recognize a lot of us. I'm so grateful and feel blessed to be part of a company that helps residents, their families, and their caregivers with this technology.

Where can we find you when you're not working?

My grandfather suffered from dementia, I personally experienced the slow decline in his cognitive function and the many struggles that came with it. During the later years, he suffered several falls which we were lucky enough to have my grandmother witness it and quickly alert us. SafelyYou provides a service to those that do not have someone there with them 24/7, the work which SafelyYou does is invaluable and positively impacts the lives of those most in need.

My father is currently living in a senior living community back home near where I grew up in Indiana. He was diagnosed with early-onset dementia, likely Alzheimer's disease, back in 2013. Fortunately the medicines he's been on have kept him fairly stable these past several years. I'm proud to work at a company that will help support him when he inevitably needs additional care.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
Probably the kitchen. I went to pastry school, so baking is another creative outlet for me. Or maybe on a run trying to burn off all that I baked and then consumed!

I lost a grandmother a few years ago when she suffered a stroke and fell. Because she lived alone and was unmonitored we weren't aware of her state for several hours and a lot of damage occurred in that time. Having the opportunity to work with SafelyYou and have a hand in developing a product that both improves the quality of life and potentially saves the lives of individuals who need extra care is extremely rewarding.

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?

I am a very strong believer that technology and care can be combined to optimize and humanize care for those that need it the most. Since my early career, I was exposed to the potential socio-economic benefits and impact of assistive technologies being developed to help people with motor impairments and disabilities.I continued to pursue the health-tech track as a graduate student by pursuing a PhD grant research proposal to develop and investigate a system's approach to analyzing and characterizing care. I designed and set up a mock-up ICU room andI rigged it with multiview and multimodal sensors to collect data to develop and test human activity, interaction, and event algorithms. I developed multiple algorithms to assess and summarize person pose sleeping patterns, infer roles and log and summarize room events. I demo-ed the "work" and it opened the door to a set of real medical ICU rooms, where I deployed and refined the algorithms that completed my PhD work.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
When I am not in my office, I can be easily found around Los Padres National Forest or the Ventura and Santa Barbara Coasts enjoying the outdoors; the skate park with the family having a go; or the backyard BBQ-ing.

My grandma, who practically raised me, had gone through a lot of trauma in her life—losing my grandfather, two sons, and grandson, all due to heart disease. Our family recently found out she was diagnosed with dementia. It breaks my heart to see my grandma struggling. Our family is still learning how to handle it and working together to make her comfortable.

SafelyYou mission shows motivation and passion, and I am excited to work for a company that helps people like my grandma.

What is your personal connection to SafelyYou?
Joining SafelyYou has both a personal and professional connection for me. Professionally as PTA I have worked with numerous Alzheimer's and dementia patients and have seen the damage falls can cause. Personally Alzheimer's runs on my fathers side of my family. My grandfather was diagnosed in his early 80s and lived with it until his passing in his late 90s. Currently, my uncle is undergoing studies and testing for early-onset Alzheimer's as he started developing symptoms in his late 50s.
