Fall Champion Training
from the fall experts at SafelyYou

As we know from our own research, 94% of fall incidents in memory care are unwitnessed. It’s no wonder there’s been a void in training that ties dementia education with fall prevention concepts, techniques and principles. We at SafelyYou are uniquely able to fill this gap using our dementia and fall expertise from the review of over 15,000 falls to teach fall prevention best practices with the person-centered approach needed to meet the unique needs of adults living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Starting May 17th, continuing education hours will be available for course completion! This program has been approved for Continuing Education for 1.25 total participant hours by NAB/NCERS—Approval #20220516-1.25-A74510-DL.

Fall Prevention Training

SafelyYou University is launching with Course 1, Fall Champion Training, focused on developing Fall Champions — individuals designated to lead fall prevention efforts in their community or communities. The training includes a series of short video-based lessons and accompanying quizzes for each of the following sessions.

In-Service Training Toolkit: 15-Minute Modules

Once Course 1 is completed, the In-Service Training Toolkit is unlocked, providing a variety of tools for the Fall Champions to use for direct-care staff training. The toolkit is specifically designed to enable and empower the Fall Champion to teach and share the fall prevention concepts, techniques, principles and tools they learned. Each module includes a video, which often includes clips pulled from the coursework, as well as new footage to illustrate the lesson, hands-on application activities, assessment recommendations, and more. The following modules are now available:
